Monitoring
Lift fault monitoring
Detect lift issues in real time. ControlFreq’s 4G retrofit monitors door, lighting and mains fail/restore (plus other controller events), alerting maintenance instantly to cut downtime. WebAlarm™ logs and reports every incident to reduce call-outs and improve safety.
-
Door faults
Lift door issues—held-open too long, interlock errors, obstructions and landing door problems—with clear alerts for faster response.
-
Lighting faults
Cabin lighting failures, supply loss or flicker so engineers can plan replacements before occupants report issues.
-
Power faults
Instant mains fail/restore alerts with timestamped history to evidence outages and prioritise recovery.
-
Any fault event
Monitor fault output relay signals from the lift controller ie: out-of-service, safety switches and more for customised monitoring
Turn lift faults into instant alerts
Add the ControlFreq 4G AlertCom Pro to any lift and convert controller signals into live, actionable notifications. Monitor door faults, car-light failures, mains power loss, battery status, overload trips, pit switches, landing door interlocks—any clean contact or relay output you choose. Each input can be mapped to a clear event name so engineers know what happened, exactly where and when. Whenever a fault state changes, WebAlarm™ pushes an alert immediately to the right team, reducing tenant complaints and shortening time-to-fix.
Retrofit, not replace
The AlertCom Pro accepts volt-free NO/NC inputs or 12–24V high/low triggers ensuring universal compatibility with your existing systems. No need to replace anything, AlertCom is an add-on. It typically installs inside the controller cabinet in under an hour —no PSTN line or IP network required. That makes it ideal for multi-site portfolios where truck-roll time matters. Simple surface mounting, pre-configuration and high-gain external antennas allow for consistent, reliable results on any existing lift equipment.
See everything in WebAlarm™
WebAlarm provides a live dashboard of device health, signal status and historical events site by site—on one cloud-based screen. Supporting facilities and maintenance teams to track events, ensure accountability and maintain compliance WebAlarm offers real-time visbility and actionable insight into an estate of any size. It’s flexibility allows any kind of fault or alarm event to be managed. With customisable labelling, site location, building or even customer grouping allows access to the right data fast. White-labelling allows WebAlarm to be branded for a any organisation monitoring its own estate or a reseller offering WebAlarm to its customers who may brand it for their own clients. All with ControlFreq’s reliable 7-day phone support in the background.
4G resilience with multi-network roaming
Critical comms need stable connectivity. Our multi-network IoT SIM selects the strongest UK network in any given device location with auto-connect if conditions change, keeping events flowing during local outages or maintenance. For basements and thick-walled plant rooms, add an external antenna to bring signal to otherwise signal blackspots. No on-site Wi-Fi, no building IT, no site firewall reliance—just dependable 4G mobile connectivity uplink for data transmission that matters.
Know the exact moment a lift loses mains power, its ongoing battery status and the second power returns. ControlFreq alarm communicators contain an on-board backup battery to maintain alarm and communication signalling during power outages, ensuring alarms can still send out while mains power is off. Every event is logged with precise timestamps, giving you a clear narrative for post-incident reviews.
Power aware by design
Fewer call-outs, smarter maintenance
Frequent door-nudges, intermittent light failures and recurring controller trips become patterns you can see and act on. History and trend views help engineers arrive with the right parts and the right plan, cutting second visits and weekend call-outs. Combine alert rules with maintenance windows to shift routine fixes into working hours without missing critical faults. The result: less downtime, lower cost per lift, happier building managers.
Simple to scale, simple to support
Roll out to one site or a hundred with the same workflow. We pre-configure devices to your naming scheme, alarm inputs and alert rules, then ship pilot hardware to prove the setup before a controlled phased deployment. WebAlarm is cloud-managed with role-based access so contractors, FM teams and owners all see what they need to. If you need to connect WebAlarm into existing systems, COntrolFreq have an open API and webhooks to make integration straightforward—no heavy IT lifting.
What lift fault monitoring does—and doesn’t do
The AlertCom 4G communicator solution provides universally adaptable alarm inputs to connect fault outputs for fault/event monitoring (doors, lights, power, controller signals and similar inputs) providing proactive maintenance and faster response. It does not cover emergency voice calling from the lift help button; that requires dedicated hardware and falls under our separate Lift Communications solution for EN81-28 compliant alarm phones. Use both together for a complete, modernised lift communications and monitoring estate.
Door problems account for roughly 25% of lift breakdown call-outs—the single largest fault category.
Predictive/remote monitoring can cut elevator downtime by up to 50%, improving uptime and service continuity.
Remote diagnostics can resolve up to 60% of unplanned call-outs without a site visit, reducing cost and disruption.
