Monitoring

Lift monitoring solution

Detect issues before they become failures. ControlFreq’s 4G retrofit module monitors door operation, car lighting, power loss/restore and other controller events in real time. Instant WebAlarm™ alerts, dashboards and reports help cut call-outs, reduce downtime and improve passenger safety

Tabs Bar
  • Door faults

Lift door issues—held-open too long, interlock errors, obstructions and landing door problems—with clear alerts for faster response.

  • Lighting faults

Cabin lighting failures, supply loss or flicker so engineers can plan replacements before occupants report issues.

  • Power faults

Instant mains fail/restore alerts with timestamped history to evidence outages and prioritise recovery.

  • Any fault event

Monitor clean-contact/relay signals from the lift controller (NO/NC, 12–24V)—overload, out-of-service, safety switches and more.

Turn lift faults into instant alerts

Add our AlertCom Pro to any lift and convert controller signals into live, actionable notifications. Monitor door faults, car-light failures, mains power loss, battery status, overload trips, pit switches, landing door interlocks—any clean contact or relay output you choose. Each input can be mapped to a clear event name so engineers know exactly what happened and where. When a state changes, WebAlarm™ pushes an alert immediately to the right team, reducing tenant complaints and shortening time-to-fix.

Retrofit, not rip-out

Keep the controller, wiring and workflows you already trust. The AlertCom Pro accepts NO/NC inputs at 12–24V and typically installs inside the controller cabinet in under an hour, with no PSTN line and no building network access required. That makes it ideal for multi-site portfolios where truck-roll time matters. Standardised mounting, pre-config and optional external antenna kits allow consistent, repeatable installs across old and new lift stock.

See everything in WebAlarm™

WebAlarm provides a live dashboard of device health, signal status and site groups, plus a tamper-proof event log that’s searchable by site, date, fault type or engineer. Build routing rules (who gets what, when, and by which channel), add maintenance windows to mute non-critical alerts, and use acknowledgements for full audit trails. Scheduled reports and exports feed your CAFM, service desk or BI tools so planners and ops teams stay in sync. You get visibility, accountability and evidence—on one screen.

4G resilience with multi-network roaming

Critical comms need more than “one bar.” Our roaming IoT SIM selects the strongest UK network at each location and will re-select if conditions change, keeping events flowing during local outages or maintenance. For basements and thick-walled plant rooms, add an external antenna to pull signal to where it’s usable. No on-site Wi-Fi, no building IT, no site firewall reliance—just dependable uplink for the signals that matter.

Know the moment a lift loses mains and when it returns. Receive early warnings for low control-panel battery so you can intervene before a hard outage. The communicator carries onboard backup to maintain signalling during blackouts, ensuring you still get alarms while power is being restored. Every event is logged with precise timestamps, giving you a clear narrative for post-incident reviews.

Power aware by design

Fewer call-outs, smarter maintenance

Frequent door-nudges, intermittent light failures and recurring controller trips become patterns you can see and act on. History and trend views help engineers arrive with the right parts and the right plan, cutting second visits and weekend call-outs. Combine alert rules with maintenance windows to shift routine fixes into working hours without missing critical faults. The result: less downtime, lower cost per lift, happier building managers.

Simple to scale, simple to support

Roll out one site or one hundred with the same workflow. We pre-configure devices to your naming scheme, inputs and alert rules, then ship pilot kits to prove the setup before phased deployment. WebAlarm is cloud-managed with role-based access so contractors, FM teams and owners all see what they need. And if you need to connect into existing systems, WebAlarm webhooks and scheduled JSON/CSV exports make integration straightforward—no heavy IT lift.

What this solution does—and doesn’t

This solution covers fault/event monitoring (doors, lights, power, controller signals and similar inputs) for proactive maintenance and faster response. It does not cover emergency voice calling from the lift help button; that requires dedicated hardware and falls under our separate Lift Communications solution for EN81-28 compliant alarm phones. Use both together for a complete, modernised lift communications and monitoring estate.

25% of door problems account for roughly 25% of lift breakdown call-outs—the single largest fault category.

Up to 50% of predictive/remote monitoring can cut elevator downtime by up to 50%, improving uptime and service continuity.

Up to 60% of remote diagnostics can resolve up to 60% of unplanned call-outs without a site visit, reducing cost and disruption.

Frequently asked questions

  • A retrofit 4G module and cloud service (WebAlarm™) that watches key lift signals in real time—then alerts your team the moment something goes wrong.

  • Door faults (open-too-long/interlock issues), car-lighting failures, mains power fail/restore, controller fault relays, and most other clean-contact (NO/NC, 12–24V) events you expose from the panel.

  • No. Monitoring is separate from emergency voice. If you need the alarm phone upgrade, we provide a dedicated solution for that; the two products work side-by-side.

  • Yes. It’s vendor-agnostic. We connect to dry-contact or low-voltage outputs on almost any controller—no major panel changes.

  • Typically under 1 hour per lift. It’s a clean retrofit: mount the unit, land the inputs, power up, and the device self-reports to WebAlarm™.

  • 4G with multi-network roaming for resilience. If one carrier is weak, it automatically uses another available network.

  • Instant notifications via email, SMS and dashboard. You can choose who gets which alarms and during what hours; escalation rules are supported.

  • Yes. WebAlarm™ provides a single pane of glass for estates of any size—site, bank, and car-level views with live status and historical logs.

  • Event history, power fail/restore timelines, door fault frequency, and maintenance insights that help target repeat issues and reduce call-outs.

  • You’ll receive a mains-fail alert immediately. Optional battery backup keeps the communicator running to send updates until power returns.

  • Monitoring complements your compliance regime. Note: EN81-28 relates to emergency alarm communication; that’s covered by our separate emergency phone solution.

  • Yes. We can expose data via WebAlarm™ webhooks/API for CMMS/BMS integrations and partner portals.

  • Device-to-cloud comms are encrypted. Access is role-based with audit logs; only designated users see your lift data.

  • UK-based 7-day technical support for installers and ops teams, plus remote diagnostics through WebAlarm™.

  • Absolutely. We can equip one or two lifts for a short pilot so you can validate alarms, dashboards, and workflows before rollout.
