BT Redcare closure postponed: New deadline announced

BT has officially confirmed a revised closure date for its Redcare alarm signalling service, pushing the original deadline of 1 August 2025 back to 15 December 2025. This extension offers additional time for organisations relying on BT Redcare to plan, upgrade, or migrate to alternative monitoring solutions.

The change comes as part of BT’s ongoing infrastructure changes, including the broader PSTN switch-off. While the extension provides some breathing room, BT has made it clear that all Redcare service contracts will still terminate by or before 15 December 2025—with no further extensions expected.

What does this mean for Redcare Users?

If your system still depends on BT Redcare for fire or intruder alarm signalling, the new deadline is a temporary reprieve—but not a reason to delay. Waiting too long could leave critical systems unsupported or disconnected.

To ensure continuity and compliance, Redcare users should take immediate steps to:

  • Identify affected systems

  • Plan and schedule upgrades

  • Engage with a trusted provider for replacement monitoring
